Josh had played a string instrument since 2nd grade.  He started out playing the violin (took a break during high school, cause it wasn't cool), picked up the electric violin for a while, then one day he decided he wanted to learn the guitar. 



One thing about Josh, is when he puts his mind to something, he does it!!  He practices everyday, and I may be bias, but I think he sounds pretty darn good!!!



In between songs, he has to check his text messages, LOL!!



and his audience is pretty cute!!

I used to be a hair stylist, many moons ago!!  My family likes the fact that they get FREE haircuts, but they do not like the fact that they have to WAIT forever before I set up my makeshift outdoor hair salon.  ( I have OCD and do not want hair flying everywhere~so we cut hair outside!!)

Tonight I gave Josh a haircut (since he is starting classes next week~and in return he will let me take a first day of school photo, I think he may be kidding me about the photo, LOL!!). 

This is my outdoor salon set up~a bar stool, cape, clippers, shears, water bottle, and duster, but NO A/C and let me tell ya...it was stinkin' hot out at 4:30 pm, in Arizona!!  So that explains no final haircut photo, we were both sweating to death and could not wait to get back inside!! 

Time to schedule Ashley and Nate for a h/c!!

This is what tonight looks like at our house~all the boys on the couch (Josh playing XBox, Mike doing homework~but really, I think he is checking FB, and Kodi sitting by his favorite person). I love HOME!!

Just some randomness for today...
Josh has Thursday's off from work, so I usually leave him a little to-do list (which I am sure he loves, LOL!!), since I leave for work at 7am and he is still sleeping.



Here are his jobs for today~and if you notice number one~we found out that Kodi still has valley fever :( so he is back on another round of meds to hopefully clear it up!!



He did most of the jobs, but the pile of stuff is still on the counter at 10 pm!

This morning Josh was hanging out in the living room with Kodi~so of course I asked if I could take their picture...(I was expecting a NO, since I usually have my camera in their faces most of the time, LOL!!. I was quite surprised when he said "ok"). I LOVE this photo :) two of the cutest boys IMO!!

"Someone you Love"

I love lots of people~but the 3 most near and dear to my heart are these 3 crazy peeps below!!! Since my sweet family was not in the mood for a photo shoot today (I let them off the hook, once in a while, LOL!!!), I decided to pull this FAVORITE photo from my scanned photo file. They will probably wish they did the photoshoot today~ha ha!!!

This was taken around 1997 or 98 (way, way, WAY before my photography days~I think this was taken with a film point and shoot, LOL), when we were living in Lynchburg VA. Mike was finishing his bachelor's degree at LU. Surprisingly, those "lean" days were some of the best times in all our lives!!!

Josh and Jess went swimming today!! They are the first ones in our pool this year (still too cold for me, 78 degrees is the water temp, Yes I am a wimp!!). Josh tells me that once you get all the way in~it is nice (he still didn't convince me, LOL!!). Hopefully the water temp will be up to 82 degrees soon, then I can get in (can you believe I am from CT???). I guess I am a true Arizonian now!



And here is Kodi (who does not particularly care for the water, probably cause Josh threw him in last year~BAD Josh!!!), looking on, he may get the courage to try it out in a few weeks when the temps get into the triple digits :)

Last week The Canvas People were having a Mother's Day special~a FREE 8x10 canvas (all you have to do is pay the s & h). Soooo...I ordered myself a Mother's Day present (I however upgraded to the 11x14 for a few dollars more), LOL!! This is the second canvas I have ordered from them, and I am very happy with the quality and customer service!! Both times I got them for FREE~so that is an added perk ;)

Now I just need to figure out where I am going to hang this bad boy!!

22 years ago today (I don't know where the time has gone!!)~my FAVORITE son was born!!! Happy Birthday Josh!!!

Today while Josh was mowing the lawn, he found this baby bird who had a broken wing~we gave it some water, and put it back in the tree~I am hoping he makes it!!

Today we celebrated my favorite son's birthday at work (yes he works with me, *smile*). Ashley had the day off (she works with me too, *smile*), so she stopped in for some cake and celebrating *woot woot* and she brought Hershey with her *hooray*

I have to say that Josh and Hersh are pretty darn cute!!!

Today was recycling day for our neighborhood, I was bringing in the recycling bin from the street (we keep it in our side yard), and when I opened the gate I was greeted by this:



Yeah I need to weed~don't judge me, LOL!!!



My first reaction was "is this a joke?" Then I called Josh (usually the answer behind weird stuff) and asked him why is there a dog in the side yard...at first he thought I meant we had a real dog in the back yard (other than Kodi)...well, then he remembered...apparently he found this on the side of the street in one of his friends neighborhoods (in Phoenix we have quarterly 'bulk' trash dates where you put bulky items by the curb and waste management picks it up~this was in the bulk trash pile). Josh is famous for finding "stuff." I honestly do not know what he planned on doing with this dog statue which has a missing arm and a hole in it's neck~needless to say it is going in my trash can!!! I did get a good laugh out of it~and a photo of the day *wink*

I almost forgot my post today *gasp*

My hubby usually has things to do at the church on Saturday's~but this Saturday the Women's Ministry gave him the day off...so we decided to go out to brunch with the kids (I cannot remember the last time we did that). Unfortunately Nate had to work :(
